TOPS'L Summit 1006 - 2 Bedroom

As always, we loved our stay at Tops’L and really enjoy this unit. That said, I was a little disappointed to see a couple of issues that haven’t been addressed since our spring stay. The lock from the main bedroom to the balcony is still broken, making it inaccessible, and some of the paint on doors and trim is still peeling and looking worn. We truly love this unit, but we’re trying a different one for our next visit. Hopefully it gets some maintenance soon — it’s a great place, and it would be a shame to see it decline

We enjoyed this clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated condo for a month. When we needed help with working the TV, a small repair, and a new toaster, courteous service was there right away. The included access to the Fitness Center made our stay wonderful. We were delighted with everything at Tops'l, especially the friendly people everywhere.

The view is amazing; resort is fabulous with many amenities, including a short walk to the pool, beach, and bar. The unit itself is decorated very nice. However, the beds are extremely uncomfortable and most of the bedding is stained with makeup and some other yellow stain, only the most basic kitchen supplies, no patio furniture (except 2 picnic chairs), a rusted balcony door leading from the master bedroom prevented us from using that door (once we got it unlocked after 3 days, the door would not stay shut). Would definately revisit the resort, but not this unit— mainly due to the beds.

The positives: We always LOVE staying at Tops’l Summit but it had been several years since we stayed here. We like that the location is far enough away from the crowds and chaos of Destin, but still close enough to drive over if we want to partake in the activities/restaurants. The unit itself did NOT disappoint! Beautifully furnished, basic kitchen appliances, decent choice of dishes, comfy beds and furniture. The REAL star of this home is the VIEW! We watched the sunrise every morning from the mater bedroom or living room/kitchen. Just stunning! The beach was a VERY short, pleasant walk and beach access was also a breeze! The Summit pool/hot tub was just steps away and we used the pool daily. Unit was extremely clean and we had no maintenance issues with the unit itself. Room for improvement: The evening we arrived, we were bringing up luggage on the trolleys and my kids and I got stuck in the elevator. 😬 Pretty terrifying experience as there was no number in the elevator to call. Fortunately my husband got out before the doors closed on us and was able to drive down to the guard shack to get help while we practiced deep breathing in a very tiny space. South Walton Fire & Rescue arrived to rescue us and it was about a 40 minute ordeal. Needless to say, we were leery of the elevator the rest of the trip…but were also not excited about climbing stairs up or down 10 flights. We reported this issue to the front desk the next morning but they were “meh” about it…we were not offered any compensation. The Summit pool restrooms were closed/out of order for our entire stay. So, we had to go back up to our condo for bathroom breaks. The unit could use a few more pots and pans if cooking for more than two…as we preferred to do for the majority of our stay. Aside from the “elevator experience,” we had a lovely stay and very much enjoyed Spring Break at Miramar Beach.
